Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
This policy explains what data the Mindbyte app (“Mindbyte”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email support@horikh.com.
Data we collect
- Account information. If you sign in with Google, Apple, Facebook or email, we receive your email address, and, depending on the provider, your name and profile photo URL. If you continue as a guest, we create an anonymous account with no personal details.
- Learning data. Subjects you pick, topics you read and how far you got, saved cards, your reading streak and how many cards you read each day.
- Settings. Your app language and notification preferences.
- Purchases. If you subscribe to Mindbyte Plus, Apple or Google processes the payment. We never see your card details; we receive the subscription status and purchase history linked to your account.
- Usage and diagnostics. Screens viewed, sign-ins and similar app events, crash reports, and device information such as model, OS version and app version.
- Notifications. If you allow them, a push token used to deliver reminders and updates.
- On your device only. Recent searches and whether you've seen the intro are stored locally and never sent to us.
How we use it
- To provide the app: save your progress and sync it across your devices.
- To unlock Plus content for subscribers and restore purchases.
- To send the notifications you turned on.
- To fix crashes and understand which features are used, so we can improve Mindbyte.
- To respond when you contact support.
We don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.
Service providers
We use these providers to run Mindbyte. They process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms:
- Google Firebase: authentication, database, file storage, analytics, crash reporting (Crashlytics) and push notifications.
- RevenueCat: subscription management.
- Apple, Google and Meta (Facebook): sign-in when you choose them, and payments through the App Store and Google Play.
These providers may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States, with safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and learning data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your account and learning data. Analytics and crash data are kept by Firebase for a limited time under its retention settings. Purchase records may be kept as long as required for tax and accounting.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account in the app: Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, map, progress and streak. You can also ask us by email.
- Turn off notifications in the app's settings or your device settings.
- Access, correct or export your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@horikh.com. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings.
Children
Mindbyte isn't directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections, and only you can read or change your account's data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we make significant changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
